Up to this point any news on the Faceless Murderer has been limited while it appeared that attacks had finally ended following the brutal attack on Platform 9 ¾, things had been quiet and there had been no more attacks to report, until now.
It is unfortunate that once more I must bring you news about not one, but two more attacks on Rory Anderson and Charlie Shaw. On Sunday, January 26 two bodies were found, but they were found very far apart.
Shaw, a London local and a man who was often seen about Knockturn Alley, was found lifeless on the cold cobblestone street. Many miles away in Scotland, Anderson was found in her Dufftown home that looked like it was about to crumble at any moment. The two attacks were strikingly similar to recent attacks on Animagi, leaving many to believe that the Faceless Murderer has begun his or her attacks once again.
This time, however, there was one detail that has both members of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement and Reporters baffled. While both attacks held evidence of being both deadly and savage, only one of them – the attack on Anderson – had the derogatory labelling left behind, written in the victim’s blood. The attack on Shaw, while equally as devastating and horrific, had no message left behind at all, any research into the man’s history shows no sign of any Animagi activity.
New theories are now being tossed around, some as ridiculous as the last, while others have Wixen worried. Some believe that the attack on Shaw was not actually done by the Faceless Murderer, but rather by someone inspired by their work. An even more terrifying theory that has been cooked up is that it is not only one attacker, but that it is in fact a small team who have banded together to take down the Animagi within our population.
Currently there is no proof whether or not any of these new theories are true, but it is always wise to keep open minded and to be cautious. In an attempt to keep the people safe, this reporter has worked a bit of magic – no pun intended – to acquire a copy of a sketch of the attacker that had been created for the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, to aid in their search.
Stay safe, my fellow Wixen. Travel in pairs where possible, and try to keep your outdoor activities limited to daylight hours.
