Meet the Ravenclaw Prefects

It’s time to meet your Ravenclaw Prefects!  Each one got asked a list of questions and here are their answers!  Also I kinda stole a lot of the questions from when Imogen asked us Hufflepuff Prefects. Hey there are  good questions!

What year are you?

Cara 7th !

Have you been a prefect before?

Cara No, it’s my first year being one, I’m so happy I got the badge.
Imogen Nope
Oleander yeah since 5th year
Riven Nope, not officially anyhow. Certainly feels like I’ve been prefect the past few years though.

Did you want to be a prefect before getting picked?

Cara  I hoped for it last year, but I wasn’t picked then.
Imogen Yes but no, I’m not sure if that makes sense. I know that prefects do a lot of work and I wasn’t sure if I was up for it. But I settle into this position I think I am.
Oleander Well a little, but mostly yes I wanted to be one
Riven Yeah, bloody course. How could I pass up something as glamourous as this? In all seriousness though, I did.

How do you feel about being picked?

Cara I’m super happy and honoured, I love my house and Hogwarts and I can’t wait to help out first years to get settled in Ravenclaw house.
Imogen  A weird combination of excited and scared.
Oleander I think they know what is best and I know that I am perfect for the job. I know people!
Riven Went through all the stages of grief in about 5 minutes when I first got my badge. First I didn’t believe it. Who in their right bloody mind would give /me/ a badge, after all? Not like I’ve got the most clean and clear record round here, yeah? But then I slowly came round to acceptance and got excited about it.

Why do you think the Hat put you in Ravenclaw?

Cara  I think because I love learning things on all subjects, I can spend hours reading or looking for books at the library, and usually people say i’m quite wise, reliable and calm.
Imogen Honestly? I’m not sure. I’m not the smartest person in the house. It might be because I try to listen to my heart and offer insight that people might miss in the middle of their moment.
Oleander I don’t know I really thought I would be a Hufflepuff
Riven I dunno, not like I’m a shining example of Ravenclaw wisdom, yeah? All that mumbling from the hat made it sound like “curiosity, creativity, and inquisitiveness” or something.

What’s your favourite sweets?

Cara Fizzing whizzbees or sugar quills
Imogen Chocolate frogs
Oleander ALL OF IT
Riven Can’t beat a good old fashioned chocolate frog.

What’s your favourite class?

Cara  Charms, I always look forward to learning new spells and try to practice them. Potions is a close second.
Imogen Music and Art. Though I’m enjoying charms this year.
Oleander Lunch
Riven I dunno, dark arts maybe? Charms? Transfig? I’m way more about practicals than theory so the ‘learn by doing’ classes are my bag.

Are you in any clubs?

Cara  I’m in the healer’s club, and also the year book club. I try to take part in the dueling club also, but I’m really not good at it, even after all these years.
Imogen  Not yet? I want to get into frog choir this year and I joined Owl Post as well.
Oleander Not currently but I do love clubs and school activities
Riven Owl Post. Formerly quidditch. Thinking about picking up dueling this year but we’ll see.

What is your favourite thing to do when not in classes or studying?

Cara I love to spend time in the library discovering new books or subjects, or I also like to fly on the pitch or sneak into the music room to play piano.
Imogen Mind games, listening to music, I’ve got some weird obsession with Muggle American country/pop music.
Oleander Listening to music, playing the cello, jamming with my mates
Riven –Walking round the grounds. Swimming when weather permits (and sometimes even when it doesn’t). Flying. Spending time with my favourite people.

What’s been your favourite memory of your time here?

Cara I think it would be when I got sorted in Ravenclaw, I was really scared that the Sorting Hat would put me in Slytherin like my brother, but I’ve been enjoying being in my house since day one, that’s also the day I met my best friend, Kimmy.
Imogen  I think it has to be every time that Hogwart students and professors and even our visitors have found a way to come together to overcome almost anything that has faced us.
Oleander When the castle was lit up for the holidays! Also when we had a bunch of gifts this one year
Riven Bit private, innit? Let’s say the first time catching the snitch when I was a wee little firstie instead of the more… personal memories.

Is there anything you’re worried about this year?

Cara Well my Newts of course, i really want to do well so i can pursue healing studies and hopefully a career after school.
Imogen I think it’s the unknown of what might be waiting for us.
Oleander Breaking my leg, the staircase lately has been really bad

What’s your favourite spell?

Cara I do love the patronus spell, my patronus is a little cute hedgehog, but a close second would be ferula, the bandaging spell.
Imogen I would have to say the switching spell (verum permuto).

Riven The Patronus charm. Managed a corporeal last year and it’s wicked innit?

A lot of stuff went down last year, how do you think we can handle things like that better in the future?

Cara I’m convinced that we can learn from mistakes and things happening, and if we stay united and work together we can achieve great things. I hope we’ll all be more vigilant, careful of others and use our individual experiences and mistakes to make better choices.
Imogen I think it really boils down to everyone needing to follow the rules and things that we are told. A lot of what happened last year could have been avoided if people had done simply that they had been told to do. That includes not casting on people, staying with an escort if needed, or just simply avoiding the Forbidden Forest.
Oleander Start by being prepared for the worst, and know the exits. Also make sure to voice up anything strange or odd. AND PAIRS for gods sake pairs
Riven I’ve said it a million billion times in my own articles but keep your bloody wand with you at all times. Don’t trust anyone, including professors, who want to take your wand away and leave you defenceless (unless, of course, you’ve done something really REALLY stupid to prove you don’t deserve it). Don’t be afraid to defend yourself but at the same time don’t do anything stupid like attacking someone without provocation. You get any strange voices, visions, etc in your head telling you to run off and do something stupid then stop and lock yourself up somewhere till it passes. Don’t trust any strange objects, creatures, or people that haven’t earned your trust. Also, practice your bloody spellwork, it can save your life.

Is there anything you want people reading this to know?

Cara not really, but if anyone has questions, they can come to me !
Imogen I’m here if anyone ever needs to talk, or just have a music jam session.
Oleander Don’t give prefects problems we are just like you! I don’t like giving detentions but it’s my sworn duty…so at least respect that much
Riven If you’re going through hell, keep going!!

Do you have any advice for our younger years?

Cara Do not eat or drink anything in DADA class, Don’t go near the forest, and listen to your prefects !
Imogen Don’t give up. It will be okay.
Oleander Do what you want to do as far as growing up, and don’t let peoples opinions ruin your goals! People don’t even matter when it comes to your dreams
Riven First year’s rough, I’m not gonna lie to you lot. I spent most of my first year thinking I didn’t belong here. I couldn’t cast a spell, I had exactly one friend, I didn’t get along with anyone, and I hated everything and everyone around me. But I fought through it and here I am. Prefect and okayish at that. Two time quidditch co-captain with loads of offers from pro teams. Even got an offer or two from pro dueling teams, despite not being a duelist. Managing a corporeal patronus at bloody 14 years old which, not to brag, is pretty impressive. Just keep at it. Find your friends group and what you’re good at and what you like and all that. Fail a bunch so you eventually stop failing a bunch because that’s what first year’s all about.
