Attempted Abduction Thwarted by Aurors
A purported supporter of Dragomir Gvozdic, Demetrius Carraway, attempted to abduct and assassinate a Hogwarts student who is reportedly the younger sister of Lars Stangeland – Durmstrang winner of the 2028 Triwizard Tournament.
Department of Magical Law Enforcement were swiftly on the scene following the increased Ministry presence in Hogsmeade through the winter months. Newly appointed Auror Niamh Horrell, Cillian Maxwell of the Patrol Squad, and Hit Wix Noma Nyx attempted to diffuse the situation with the drama ending in Horrell and Maxwell physically disarming the knife from Carraway.
There was some speculation that the attempted assassination was due to the testimony that Stangeland has given to the Ministry of Magic regarding the upcoming trial of Dragomir Gvozdic for the murder of Matvey Golovin.
The trial dates for both Dragomir Gvozdic and Demetrius Carraway will be announced by the Wizengamot in due course.
Hogwarts Shakeup
Following the recent Hogsmeade attack, Professor Aoife O’Keeffe – Headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Order of Merlin, First Class – has reportedly been in talks with the Ministry of Magic to increase the external security to the castle.
Hit Wixen are now stationed at Hogwarts gates and the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures are rumoured to be providing security trolls to be stationed along the castle grounds.
Three Broomsticks Chaos
Hogsmeade was the source of all drama on the 23rd of January with a brawl breaking out in The Three Broomsticks, a large amount of people were seen hurriedly exiting as the sounds of breaking tables and glass could be heard.
The Department of Magical Law Enforcement were denied entry by publican Jade Troll so as of yet, no charges have been pressed.
Rumour has been abound, despite this, with reports of disgruntled goblins, dragon dung sellers, and an engorgio’d pygmy puff being cited as the cause for the disturbance.
Post Office Politics
A disturbance was reported in the Hogsmeade branch of the Owl Post Office on the 23rd of January with a group of students reportedly damaging packages in response to alleged anti-goblin rhetoric by the owner.
The Department of Magical Law Enforcement was on scene following the ruckus to investigate.
