Pygmy puffs everywhere, does it mean the Pygmy virus is coming back to Hogwarts?
So, for the past week or so, it seems that Pygmy puffs have invaded Hogwarts, they are everywhere and most of them are not anyone’s pet. They just seem to have appeared suddenly for some reason ….
So, with so many Pygmy puffs around, can we expect the Pygmy virus back? I heard about this virus from both my older brother and sister who were here when it happened. Twice. I think my sister said she went through it twice; I can’t remember what my brother said. He’s older than my sister so perhaps he only got caught out in the first outbreak, I don’t know.
Anyway, to come back to the virus, it’s a really nasty one, and for two days you may not even know you’ve got it so you could be passing it around to everyone else!
There are several symptoms you should look out for, and you need to be careful because a couple of those are identical to those of the common flu:
– Runny noses and sneezing: pepper up potion will not help if you have pygmy virus unfortunately ….
– Itchiness and redness of the skin …
– Swollen and itchy eyes …
– Involuntary squeaking at random times …
– and finally, small hair growth patches in various areas of the body that resemble the same colour of the Pygmy it was contracted from.
I think I could cope with the first three even though I don’t like any of them obviously but the last two are particularly yucky don’t you think? I mean … out of control squeaking and hair patches? My sister even told me she had one on her face!
So, how does it spread? Well, according to all the information I have been able to get, it can spread through contact of skin, contact of newfound fur, bodily fluids (kissing, spit or snot – yuck to all of them!), breath/air or through touching a Pygmy so be careful out there just in case!
It lasts for seven days, and this is what an older Hufflepuff student, Marigold Feathersweet had to say about it: “It’s just kinda like a bad furry flu, gross but nothing bad.”
It may not be too dangerous, but I think I don’t like the sounds of it regardless.
