South Africa Shocker! Defeat the Nordic Team 230-180
After racing ahead to a 180-20 lead disaster struck the Nordic Team as they couldn’t finish off a stalwart South African side who made an incredible come back to steal the win. On the back of world class keeper Arno Baard who kept his team in the chase until the offense started to pick up late in the day.
Neliswa Mbete out manoeuvred up and coming seeker Iátuluk, putting his team over the top for their upset victory.
England Overcomes Strong Sierra Leone 240-80
England and Sierra Leone had a near even match over the pitch but the fast fingers of the Falmouth Falcons captain Jackie Morgan secured the win to move the host nation one step closer to their dream of appearing in a Quidditch World Cup final in their homeland . Morgan made fast work of the opposition once again, this time over veteran workhorse Boubacar Coulibaly.
English chaser Robbie Crotty and South African Omar Williams shared the lead with 40 points a piece, and Solomon Daboh Fofanah of South Africa lead with 6 bludgerings.
Russia Escapes Japan, 260-110
Japan put on a technical master-class with quick passing and tight defending at mid-pitch but could not overcome the world class play of Anna Starikova who put up a tournament high 6 assists. The Russian chasers could not handle the Japanese press and lost control of the quaffle 8 times, directly leading to 60 points. Russian seeker Alexei Sorokin caught the snitch at the 46th minute, salvaging their quest in the face of a poor team performance.
Irish Magic Strikes Again in 210-190 Victory Over China
The dream run from Ireland carries on as they battled through the unrelenting Chinese attack to manage the slimmest of victories. China held the lead from the world go, but failed to capture the win due to the relentless Irish seeker Padraic Kinneen who once again secured Irish victory and marks the first time since in modern history a winner of a play-in match advanced to the tournaments third round.
Mahinur Yasin lead all chasers by scoring an incredible 100 points on 11 shots.

Dear Editor,
How dare you? Only just recently you drug my family’s name through the mud with your article about that murderous… mutt. The one who claimed the name of my dead sister, Eleanor Lovelace.
The Lovelace family has been a prominent and respected pureblood family in the Wizarding community for decades yet your gossipy reporters have seen fit to slander our name, associating us with murderers and worse, werewolves.
This past month you saw fit to yet again curse us with some ridiculous affiliation by daring to print a story of another murderous mutt and attaching our name to her.
I can assure you there is no one on the family tree inflicted with that damned lycanthropy and there has never been. Eleanor Lovelace died whilst we were in school. I demand a public apology be published else actions will be taken.

Free the Wolf
Stop arresting werewolves on the nature of what they are! This is an open call out for the Ministry of Magic to admit what is really going on, the attempted rounding up and containment of innocent werewolves!

The Ministry needs to go ahead and burn these monsters. Werewolves are a blemish on our society and their plague must be put to an end. I applaud the Daily Prophet for continuing to out these monsters for what they are and revealing the names of those beasts who need to be put down.
