The Department of Magical Law Enforcement AND Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures called out to Hogsmeade village overnight
In the late hours of Monday night the Ministry of Magic attended Hogsmeade village, Scotland, in response to claims of a ‘disruption’. The following Tuesday morning there is a very obvious presence of Ministry workers, with Hogsmeade residents remaining under the curfew imposed following the incident.
Under the supervision of The Department of Magical Law Enforcement, a small contingent of The Daily Prophet were given access to the scene.
Cordons remained in place with initial reports hinting towards a gruesome attack on a ten year old child whose name has yet to be released to the public. St. Mungo’s Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries have declined to comment thus far.
Residents questioned have been equally vague with some describing a large shadow and others simply a tall figure in a black cloak. The uncertainty of the events and an attack on a small child has left the once open and welcoming village with an air of suspicion and hostility towards visitors to the Wizarding hotspot. The return of students to Hogwarts begs the question: what does the Ministry of Magic plan to do to keep the the inhabitants of Hogsmeade and Hogwarts safe? The Daily Prophet has requested a statement but the Ministry of Magic has yet to comment.
