As the nights grow colder, so have the days. Indeed, winter is coming.
With its approach, some of the professors had been overheard talking about the effects on the students. The feeling was that the children had been quite peaceful over this past week. Whilst another professor was overheard saying that they had felt it was way too cold for any shenanigans. Obviously, the conversation had been quite puzzling to this third year.
Which brings us to our topic – Winter Fun!
Those of us with a playful nature and still young at heart will know that a little cold, ice, or snow is not going to deter us from having a bit of winter fun. At first hint of cold on the icy surfaces, I’m sure more than a few of us thought about what a wonderful place this had turned into. An almost limitless playground for testing out just how well the bottom of our shoes would skid across it. If you befriend an older year who can cast a cushioning charm there’s no chance of falling with injury!!
I know that I’m not the only one looking for the first moment to don your jacket and gloves only to pounce into the fresh snow. Not a one of us can resist making snowmen, snow angels, or throwing snowballs. The element of surprise is a must. Of course, I’d be delighted in waiting for the common response in retribution for a well placed snowball straight to the face. Which is all fine and good, as long as you make sure that the snow remains white.
I must say that my favorite winter past time has to be ice skating. I will not confirm nor deny that I may or may not have been involved in the testing of the Castle’s recently icy surfaces. However, I would suggest that if you do decide to try out said activity, you must make sure that no one will be around to grass you up. I mean, that could really put a wrench into anyone’s holiday cheer. Don’t you think?
That’s it for this week’s winter fun schemes. Over and out!
