I have many theories as to why the grand staircase was really closed last week; all the portraits were protesting clothes and the professors were trying to protect our innocent eyes, a muggle escalator was being installed,
But I have intel that the staircase was ACTUALLY a sentient creature that has resided in Hogwarts for many years and today has decided to awaken and migrate! More on that in another article, today I’m here to help you get around the castle without having to get stuck on a moving part or waiting for a staircase OR if you just really want to make every day leg-day!
The second floor toilets might seem out of bounds, and if you’re desperate to pee then I really wouldn’t recommend it but you can get there via the Long Gallery.
The Long Gallery?!?! I hear you say. How do you get THERE without the second floor!?!
Well you could always go outside and walk across the viaduct.
But Nora! The Weather’s [redacted] this time of year, and what about curfew?!
If you’re not willing for a mad dash across the viaduct you could always make your way to the 6th floor and have an even shorter mad dash across the stone bridge.
How do I even get to the 6th floor though?
The clock tower! The clock tower gets you everywhere! 3rd floor! 5th floor! 6th floor! 7th floor!!!
And from the 3rd floor you enter the hospital wing, you can then get to charms, the dueling room, and the suspension bridge which can lead you to Defence Against the Dark Arts, Mythology, Transfigurations, Astronomy and back to the Long Gallery!
From the 5th floor there’s a sneaky route to the Great Hall, head down to the cellars from the 5th floor and then back up to the Great Hall or you can pop out to the quad for Muggle Studies!
Stuck getting to potions? You can get to the dungeons by going through the caves by the 6th and 7th floor, head down and voila! You’re in the dungeons!
Hopefully this helps and I’m keeping my new fingers crossed that the sentient stair beast returns in a living form one day!
