An official memorandum to the Press regarding negotiations with the Goblin Community
This memorandum forms an official update and release on the status of the negotiations between the Ministry of Magic and representatives of Goblinkind regarding the ongoing tensions between our communities.
Citizens of the Wizarding Community of Great Britain & Ireland, and representatives of the press,
The Minister for Magic has received a set of demands from representatives of the Goblin Community. These demands set out the conditions which these Goblin representatives claim to be necessary for the return of the gold removed from Gringott’s Wizarding Bank, and the restoration of working relations between Goblin- and Wizard-kind.
The demands stretch across a complex range of issues, and the negotiations which are ongoing regarding these terms are similarly multi-faceted. The Ministry of Magic therefore wishes to gauge the opinions of the public before committing to any agreement. Pursuant to this, the Ministry for Magic will hold a Consultation Ballot on these demands within the coming weeks. All those of age and enjoyment of full electoral privileges will be eligible to vote and register their views.
The Ballot will be preceded by a public debate between officials of the Ministry of Magic, and the Goblin representatives responsible for communicating these demands. The full terms of the demands will be outlined at the debate. We expect to confirm full particulars of the time, location, and process imminently.
The Minister for Magic has asked me to convey the Ministry’s commitment to full transparency and cooperation with the press in this matter, and we welcome all enquiries and questions at this stage to be communicated to the Minister’s Office.
On behalf of the office of the Ministry for Magic,
Archibald E. Colquhoun
Senior Assistant Level 1, Ministry of Magic Headquarters
Whitehall, London SW1
((The debate will be held on May 29th from noon though this has yet to be ICly announced))
