Welcome to Weekly Portents, your one and only source for all things prophetic!
In Weekly Portents I, the one and only Riven Redwhisper, will be giving a special reading to let you know what to expect at Hogwarts in the coming days, weeks, months, and beyond! But that’s not all, dear reader! The cards tell me you should expect much much more in the future including personal readings to answer questions you’ve submitted, tips and tricks to improve your own Divinations game, and I even have an interview lined up with a real live seer! Yes, I know it’s been months since I first promised all these things but rest assured, they WILL happen! Eventually!
What are the Sooths saying? What are the Oracles orating? What are the augers articulating? Check in each week to find out!

Good morning, afternoon, or whenever you’re reading this and welcome to another Weekly Portents.
No reading this week but I have something very important to share with you instead. Something quite serious and dreadful, actually. There’s been loads of buzz in the Divs world this week and I’ve received some very reliable reports of grim tidings to come.
Multiple seers getting multiple visions at roughly the same time. It’s not always synced up like that but it does happen on occasion, or so I’m told, and when it happens it’s not something to take lightly. I have two to tell you about but I’ve been informed there have been other visions, as well.
Brace yourselves because this is about to get grim but it’s my duty to inform you when something like this is brought to my attention.
First we have a report from outside the castle. My source informs me of a vision seemingly related to the Grecession and the balance of power and all that. Same idea that’s come up a few times in Portents but this one ends a bit differently. Their vision featured scales tipping back and forth between magic and gold over and over again but both sides ended up empty. Sounds like a warning but hard to say of what. Not to be too greedy? Perhaps we’re being warned of losing our magic, just as we’ve lost our gold?
The other came from within the castle and was, for better or worse, somewhat more specific. Or perhaps it wasn’t? Hard to tell with these things but this one was unfortunately far darker as well. Hit real close to home when I heard about it too.
This particular seer had a vision of the quidditch pitch but it was dark and quiet. They could just barely make out the grass below but then they saw blood. A long, awful, trail of blood in the grass that led to a broom snapped in half and a fallen figure in dark blue robes or, perhaps, a dark blue uniform. The pitch was then filled with the horrible sounds of screaming and crying and all went black. This one carried a message about a “champion meeting their doom.”
I want nothing more than this to be a metaphor or be downright wrong but I know well enough about this topic to let it be ignored. If any of this sounds familiar to you or you hear anyone talk about tampering with brooms please speak up. Let your prefects and professors know. Owl the DMLE if you have to, just get the word out there. Lives may actually depend on it!
I’m sorry it’s another dark and dreary one but these warnings are real and need to be heard. That’s all for this week, goodnight.
