As expected the Third and Final Task of the Triwizard Tournament came to an explosive conclusion but not in the way anyone imagined
The Triwizard Tournament was won on Saturday afternoon by Lars Stangeland [pictured] of Durmstrang Institute in a spectacular battle of the mind and the soul. However the win was overshadowed when reports came in early on the morning of Saturday the 19th that aurors had been seen leaving the Hogwarts Grounds with Dragomir Gvozdic, Headmaster for Durmstrang Institute, in custody the previous day.
Following what was reported to be an almost lethal duel in the Great Hall between Gvozdic and Professor O’Keeffe, Headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Dragomir Gvozdic has been arrested and charged with the murder of Matvey Golovin, former Headmaster of Durmstrang Institute.
After the arrest of former Deputy Headmistress of Durmstrang Institute, Vilhelda Óðrvegr, in November 2027 for the use of an Unforgivable Curse on one of her students, speculation surrounded the case with fingers pointed openly at Óðrvegr as the murderer despite being behind bars at the time of Golovin’s death. The facts of the case continue to remain unclear and Hogwarts and Durmstrang have declined to comment at this time.
What we do know is that the Wizengamot trial is scheduled over the summer and could prove to be explosive.
It is rumoured that students from Durmstrang Institute will be called to testify against their former Headmaster, especially the reigning Triwizard Champion Lars Stangeland, and his second Gabriel Engstrom, who apparently feature heavily in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement’s reports on the case.
