In the spirit of the upcoming holidays, and with our last trip to Hogsmeade for this year, I have been in contact with the shops of Hogsmeade to bring the students of Hogwarts some gift giving ideas. The local shops in Hogsmeade have provided information that could help you check off those names on your shopping lists that you might still have to shop for.
Dogweed & Deathcap will be featuring holiday decorations for all of us to pick up while shopping over the weekend. They will have enchanted trees, potted trees, poinsettia wreaths, potted poinsettia, and mistletoe! Some of you might need to pick up a few sprigs of that to keep your holidays busy! Prices range from 1 to fifteen Galleon’s for the items that they have for sale! They are also offering gift wrapping and prices will depend on size.
Rourke’s Elixirium will be providing a stocking stuffer with a collection of sample floral syrups containing floral extracts for adding to cocktails or mocktails. Do take the time to stop by and tell our previous professor hello! I am sure that he would be more than happy to see us all.
Snitches Get Stitches will have special holiday ornaments available. There are three options this year for purchase. First, a box of 5 snitches that sparkle and fly circles around your tree, perfect for the quidditch enthusiast. Keep in mind these are different from regular snitches as they only do laps around your tree, no evasive maneuvers! Second, a commemorative Triwizard Tournament 2027 ornament. Lastly, a Merlin tree-topper which features a charmed wand tip that is quite radiant. They also will be providing gift wrapping for your purchases for 10 sickles more on your purchases.
Honeydukes has sent me a message via a very splendid Catgriff to tell me that there will be specials on gingerbread items throughout the shop. The shop shall also be taking orders for custom gingerbread houses! Totally need to stop by and pick up one of those for my Nana, maybe it will get me off the naughty list this year! There have also been rumors that a very holly, jolly man in a red suit just might be lurking about on Sunday.
I am sure that as the holidays get closer, that the shops will keep gifts in stock with a majority of the students staying in the castle over the holidays. Do be sure to correspond with the shop keepers to pick up those last moment gifts for someone special. Happy shopping everyone!
