As all of our readers, except first years, will remember this time last year is when Dorchester arrived. Right smack in the middle of the Hearty Party, ending it abruptly with chaos and confusion. And while we are quite sure it will not happen again. Just in case, we decided to make a list of do’s and don’ts!
DO!
Stay calm and don’t panic!
Panicking only makes things worse and does not help at all.
Stay in one spot and listen to what is going on.
This not only allows you to learn what is going on. It makes you less of a target by those that look for movement to pounce on. However! if you are in immediate danger get out of the way asap!
Younger years watch the Teachers and Prefects for cues on what to do.
They may start pulling you out one by one or in small groups to get to safety.
DO NOT!
Talk back.
That only makes you a target.
Throw food.
It makes you a target for their attacks.
Cast spells AT the invaders of the party if they are not hurting you.
Again, makes you a target and you want to get out of the hall unscathed
Ignore those around you.
They may be confused and scared and you can help them by comforting them. Or they may be trying to tell you to do something
Snog like it’s not happening.
Really just… don’t do this.
That’s just a few tips. Use some common sense on what to do or not do. Just stay safe!
