While we all know that the Tri-Wizard Tournament is good fun to watch and all, I’m sure that there is a fair proportion of you out there that wake up on a Saturday morning and say, “You know what, I miss quidditch this year.” I know I do; so if you’re like me, read on!
Where quidditch is the question, Scrimmage Club is the answer! The club will meet starting this week and continue every other Saturday (calendar permitting), and you can expect an easygoing, casual setting for learning and playing the sport. Whether you have never played before, or are a seasoned veteran ready for the pros, I’d like to invite you all to dust off your brooms and join us. All ages, houses, and even schools are welcome to attend!
The inaugural meeting this Saturday will function as a bootcamp for those who have never played before but feel that, with a bit of help, quidditch would be something they could enjoy. We welcome all experience levels every week (including for bootcamp — all hands on deck!), as we work together to learn the basics of the sport. In follow-up meetings we’ll be randomly assigning players to teams, adding an exciting dynamic to each game; one match you’re at odds with another player; the next, you’ll have to work together. It’s all luck of the draw, but if you can keep afloat, great rewards await! (( OOC Note: A club point will be given to all who attend, but an extra point will be awarded to the players of the winning team ))
We’ll be keeping statistics for each and every meet-up, allowing us to celebrate with an exclusive awards ceremony at the end of the year, commemorating individuals who go the extra mile.
All of this quickening your quaffle? Sign up today and join us at the quidditch pitch THIS Saturday morning, 10am ((SLT)) for some good old quidditch fun.
To sign up, simply fill out this form: https://forms.gle/nyPkur4uToZhsbsd9 You only need to do it once, and it gets you in the pool for all matches for the rest of the year.
(( Please come prepared with a scriptless outfit for club meetings. If you need help doing this, contact Casey Champion (casiharley resident) for assistance before Saturday! ))
