Vampire Attacks at Hogwarts
November 2nd, 2024.
As reports of Minister for Magic, Hannah Fischer, visiting the North unfolded the question of ‘why’ was left unanswered to the public.
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is renowned to be one of the safest institutions in all of the United Kingdom however over the last month reports have leaked about incidents occurring and communications being stifled. Hogsmeade residents have been kept largely in the dark, only noticing minor security increases within the village and Miss S. Belmont, of J. Pippin’s Potions, reported that on the 20th of this month Hogsmeade shops closed early. Miss Belmont herself stated that she was not able to go onto the street but following interviewing several students it is widely known within the student populous that a vampire has caused several attacks on students.
The Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures have declined to comment however it is with this exclusive article that the inner goings on of Hogwarts over the previous month.
It may prove hard to believe but in the space of just over a week Hogwarts was beset with a banshee, an attack of acromantulas, and six students being victimised by a vampire. The Banshee’s dire warnings echoed through the halls;
“All will suffer. Death is coming. All will perish when it comes.”
Recovery of both students and the state of the Hogwarts Great Hall had just begun when five days later, The Daily Prophet was informed, a courtyard was destroyed opening a network of tunnels containing Acromantula.
You may ask why Hogwarts retains its reputation as safe, especially as within four days six students were attacked by a ‘vampire’.
The Vampire Society of Great Britain and the Minister for Magic descended upon Hogwarts a week later and The Daily Prophet followed suit, if reports are to be believed Professor Fox, Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, personally attended the Ministry of Magic requesting support from officials. There have been no further attacks on students reported in recent days however the requests for unity and oneness within houses appears yet to be apparent.
The advice from The Vampire Society and The Ministry is to prioritise defensive magic over attacks, and the advice also reiterated is that it is illegal to kill a Being. Perish the thought that any Hogwarts student would be capable of killing a being but consternation is amongst students questioning the advice of defensive magic and the safety that it affords them. Faith is wavering in the opinion of The Vampire Society amongst students but those asked believe that Professor Fox and Minister for Magic, Hannah Fischer, are keeping them safe with their best interests at the core of their actions.
A young Hufflepuff, who wished to remain anonymous, met with Daily Prophet reporter Saffron Foxclaw to discuss the theories behind what has been going on a Hogwarts.
The diary entries of a muggle youngster have been conspicuously found alongside each attack, chronicling the events of ‘Miles’ as he becomes progressively weaker. The implication of these entries are that his brother ‘Elliot’ is behind this, and many have voiced that he is potentially the perpetrator of these incidents.
Archives proved inconclusive as the only solid fact obtainable was that neither siblings attended Hogwarts. The Hufflepuff interviewed voiced an opinion that appears to be snowballing in that;
“We possibly have a third person that is not named in the diary pages to worry about. I don’t think this Elliot is the one that we’re worrying over. And I don’t think his brother Miles, as named by the diary entries, is the one either. Sounds like there’s a third something out there that’s somehow tied in. And somehow my house is targeted…half of the people hurt have been badgers, the rest all, minus one, have been with a badger…”
The general consensus from this minority opinion, or “conspiracy theory” is that the attacker may not even be linked to those named within the diary entries found. Unusually for a vampire it does not appear to be feeding from students but only committing acts out of some sort of revenge. Due to the obvious recent happenings Professor Fox and Minister for Magic, Hannah Fischer, have yet to comment.
