Charms (Years 5-7)
Professor Morrigan (MrTempleton Resident)
For 5th – 7th Years: Choose a spell from your year’s Standard Book of Spells and think hard on what you would envision as the focus of your intent behind casting the spell. The focus could be envisioning in your mind’s eye the spell playing out it’s effect upon your target, an idea or wish associated with the effect of the spell, or it could be a single word. All that matters is that the focus of your intent for the spell is clear to you, and that you are prepared to explain it to the class. You will then be expected to cast it non-verbally if you are a 6th or 7th year; 5th year will still cast verbally.
Mythology (All Years)
Professor Reeve (Nintendlo Resident)
Greek Heroes!
You may pick from the following list of heroes in Greek mythology: Achilles, Heracles, Odysseus, Perseus, Atalanta, Orpheus, Theseus, and Bellerophon.
This is a group project (no larger than groups of four), and as such, it is not expected of you to do all of the work. Students have the option to present icly or submit their presentations oocly in the form of a roleplay log (either due to being unable to be present/and or time constraints). Groups may be created, added to, and disbanded at your discretion. ((I’m aware that timezone differences, IRL, and other factors make this project difficult for some people to find the time to work together.))
Students may take any creative liberties in regards to their presentation through any means, including thespian talents, art, costuming, props, magic, and so on so long as the requirements below are met.
- What is the hero’s origin or divine connection?
- What major feats or adventures are they known for?
- What flaws or challenges did they face?
- Why is this hero significant in Greek mythology?
Professor Reeve will be receiving notecards or watching the presentations next Wednesday at 1:00 SLT (October 2)
