You will need!
Ingredients
- 3 cups old-fashioned oats
- 2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup almonds, chopped
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 16 Tablespoons butter, melted + 2 Tablespoons of butter
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 cups dark chocolate chips
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
Equipment needed
- Measuring cups
- Measuring spoons
- Bowls
- Aluminum foil
- Cookie spray
- 9 x 13 pan
- Whisk
- Double broiler or a microwave
- Sharp knife
Instructions
Line a 9×13 pan with tin foil making sure the edges hang over the sides of the pan. Spray foil with cooking spray.
Combine oats, flour, sugar, almonds, baking soda, and 1 t. Salt in a bowl
Whisk together 16 T. butter, eggs, and vanilla in a second bowl. Stir the butter mixture into the dry ingredients.
Reserve 1 1/2 cups of the dough in another bowl for topping and press the remaining dough into the bottom of the prepared pan.
Microwave the chips, condensed milk, 1/4 t. salt and 2 T. butter until melted in a bowl. Or melt the chips using the double broiler method.
Spread the chocolate mixture over the crust. Then Crumble the reserved dough and sprinkle it over the chocolate layer.
Bake for 30 minutes at 350. Let cool for 6 hours in the pan.
Remove bars using the sides of the foil and cut into 24 bars.
