Welcome to Weekly Portents, your one and only source for all things prophetic! In Weekly Portents I, the one and only Riven Redwhisper, will be giving a special reading to let you know what to expect at Hogwarts in the coming days, weeks, months, and beyond! But that’s not all, dear reader! The cards tell me you should expect much much more in the future including personal readings to answer questions you’ve submitted, tips and tricks to improve your own Divinations game, and I even have an interview lined up with a real live seer!
What are the Sooths saying? What are the Oracles orating? What are the augers articulating? Check in each week to find out!
Well here we are again! Another Thursday and another reading for my dear sweet and lovely readers or whatever I’m calling you lot now.
What I mean to say is welcome traveller, please take a walk with me into the great unknown that is our future! Our journey will lead us into a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind, probably. And something about boundaries of your own imagination.
Anyway, what method of Divinations shall we use as our spyglass into the future!? I’ve really no idea!!
Hadn’t planned this one out so great so we’re going to just crack open the old Divinations textbook and see what we find. I sit here in my dorm because I’m feeling especially lazy… or perhaps this is just where the divine energies have decided I am meant to be in this exact moment!!
But enough small talk, let’s get down to business!
I flip open my textbook to a random page and… there we are! Haruspicy. Would that be pronounced harr-roo-spicy? Hay-rus-pisy? Dunno but let’s see what it’s all about. “Adopted by ancient Romans, it is a practice by which the entrails of sacrificed animals are examined.”
Well ok then… let’s try another one, shall we? I flip to another page at random and what do I see!? Tephromancy: “the art of Divinations by reading the ash, cinders, or other remains of a sacrificed…”
Nope! No no no, not happening. It seems that I’m meant to kill someone or something in the name of sacrifice this week BUT NO! I shall defy fate!!
Here’s what we’re going to do instead, I’m just going to open this book three times and point to a word at random each time. Those three words are the words of wisdom you should live by this coming week.
Word #1: experience
Word #2: fireplace
Word #3: peanut
There you are folks, don’t forget to experience fireplace peanut this week or else there will be dire consequences!
If you have a question you’d like answered in Weekly Portents please send a self addressed stamped owl ((notecard)) to Riven Redwhisper ((luka5555 resident)). Your identity will remain anonymous unless you specifically request otherwise. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee the results of these readings and we also regret that we may be unable to answer everyone’s questions every week. Rest assured, however, that we’ll do everything in our power to answer as many people as we can as accurately as we can.
