Talking to a new Professor for Owl Club
I remembered that it was asked at Owl Club that someone talk to the new Professors. So I did that. I saw that Jericho had made questions for the Prefects and put them in a list. So I thought I could do that when I talked to the Professor. Unfortunately, the Professor talked kind of fast, and I am still trying to learn the English better. I did not grow up speaking it. If you see anything wrong, it is probably my fault.
P.S. There should be more owls at owl club, even if it isn’t really about owls. Wobble was lonely last time.

Do you have a first name? Where are you from?
Professor Shadoan’s first name is Airtia. She said she is originally from the eastern end of London.
What do you teach?
Occamy. But she also said it like ‘Olcamy.’ Or maybe Ylcamy, which is how we might write the sound in Welsh. She teaches occamy in the upper levels, though I don’t know of what. There are newts involved too somehow. But lower years can go too if they can get up there. So fellow Firsties, maybe we need to climb something.
What is occamy?
Occamy is a process of one thing and another, and matter that combines magic and brings practice and better understanding. Except that she was talking really fast, and there were other words in there I might have missed. Some words, anyway. But I’m pretty sure I got it.
What is your favourite type of sweet?
She said her favourite sweets are caramel apples. Which is kind of a sweet. But it is also fruit. But I think that is okay.
What did you do before you came to Hogwarts?
Professor Shadoan says she was in Sweden before coming to Hogwarts. But she also said she was in the Potions shop in Hogsmeade too, which is not close to Sweden. So I do not understand that. And I do not understand why she would be only in the potions shop that whole time. But that’s okay too.
What is your favourite colour?
She said her favourite colour is red. But she also said that she was a Slytherin when in school, and of course they all like green. I don’t know why she said that, except that maybe she was worried everyone would think that liking red would make her a Gryffindor, and she did not want anyone to think that. Maybe she thinks that Gryffindors have the cooties.
What do you like most about Hogwarts?
She said that it was sparks between people and something about learning lies in others, which seems kind of scary but then again, some Professors here are scary. However, there were some other words I might have missed. This Professor is kind of scary already because she looks like she has red rocks or glass stuck to her skin. So I asked her:
How do you get all that stuff on your skin? Are those real?
She said they are real, and also sharp. But then she seemed maybe a little sad about them, and said that magic and occamy are wonderful tools. But they’re also dangerous and full of consecutives. Or it was something that sounded like that. It does not sound quite right. She was talking very fast.
Do you give lots of detentions?
The Professor says she has not given any detentions yet, but she might do it. She also said she had a lot of patients, and there are expectorants she wants to meet. She also said she might want tutorings. Though again, she did talk kind of fast.
Do you have anything you want to say to the students of Hogwarts?
She said: “open your brain, learn to think. There is more to magic than spells and wands. You can do much with little if you try.” Though I am curious why everyone keeps saying to open the brain. I do not understand why everyone at Hogwarts wants us to split our skulls open and see the insides of our brains. It sounds painful and dangerous.
Do you have a pet?
She does not have any pets, not even an owl. So I do not think she would like Owl Club very much. Even if there aren’t a lot of owls in Owl Club. But then again, Owl Club does not really seem to be about owls, so maybe she would like it.
