Ministry Attack On Hogwarts?
June 16th, 2026.
If rumour is to be believed, Oreyn Fox, Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, has a warrant out for his arrest and has narrowly escaped the clutches of an elite squad of aurors.
Acting Headmistress Aoife O’Keeffe, formerly Senior Minister for the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes, has so far declined to comment stating that “the running of this esteemed school [Hogwarts] is far more important than pandering to the tabloids.”
Is this a ploy by Minister for Magic Hannah Fischer to attempt to sweep the happenings of last Sunday under the rug? Or is The Ministry again turning against Hogwarts?
This writer fears the latter. In an exclusive scoop, from the lips of students of Hogwarts themselves, there were reports that yesterday aurors cast on students, and a professor was detained without reason.

FIRE IN HOGSMEADE
‘No comment;’ the two words that will inevitably cause rumours to spread faster that the fire that almost destroyed the western portion of Hogsmeade Village on Sunday night.
The Junior Assistant for the Minister for Magic, Michel St Jours, and a small auror presence milled around the village Monday afternoon, with few willing to give a comment on the weekend’s events. Honeydukes, Hedonistic Delights, and the local Divinations store barely escaped the blaze with a wall appearing to have fallen in and extensive fire damage having riddled the entire alley.
Despite a constant auror presence, local villagers’ trust in the Ministry appears to have been shattered, along with nearby shop windows. Their trust shattered by what, you ask? According to local witnesses, The Daily Prophet has been reliably informed that the incident was caused by an auror. Yes, you heard it here first, in The Daily Prophet, an auror was apparently behind the attack on Hogsmeade!
The fear in the village was palpable as the trust in the Ministry, which has been rebuilt over the past three decades, came crashing down last night, much like the wall outside Hedonistic Delights.
Hogsmeade Local, Flannery Fortunia, witnessed the events unfold. She reliably informed me that Head Auror Zenith Depalo was seen in the Three Broomsticks consorting with wanted witch Helena Artlet. Though both he and Artlet have not been seen since, there have also been unconfirmed reports of a death with further accusations that the death was caused by an auror.
Miss Feathersweet of Honeydukes was lucky to escape the fire, silencing rumours of a second death in the village on Sunday night, saving her pets and shop favourite Pocky in her escape.
With DePalo purportedly missing in action, The Prophet may have to wait for these rumours to be confirmed or denied however, with the stoic ‘no comment’ provided by Mr St Jours, I for one will not be holding my breath.
The Ministry appear reluctant to reassure the population of the busy wizarding village beyond their minimal ‘no comment’, and with Fischer’s local approval ratings at an all-time low, The Daily Prophet looks forward to their explanation in an official statement.
Not one to end on too sour a note, fans of Honeydukes’ sweet treats will be happy to hear that fortunately the heat didn’t damage the iconic staple of Hogsmeade village, but it did melt the majority of stock. Honeydukes will remain closed until further notice.
