On, 09/05/2027, a full fledged battle erupted within the Great Hall at the Lunch hour between five students and a professor. Witnesses state that the door to the isolation room had been blown off and the professor was attempting to wrangle the students back into the room when they began to fling spells back at him. Other students jumped in to aid the professor, helping in both the capture of these five students but also tending to those injured.
It is clear from the announcement yesterday made by Professor O’Keeffe, something is not right in the dungeons. Until further notice, a professor will be on patrol in the dungeons. Please do not go down there unless you have to. Our poor Professors have enough to keep an eye on. The Headmistress has also requested that any concerns be addressed to our Heads of Houses.
Our Sunday Lunch speech, as given by Professor von Dracheblume was as follows:
Afternoon, I hope everyone is doing well since the events of yesterday. If you did get hurt in that and have not gone to the ward please do so as soon as possible so we can get you fixed up. I am sure many of you are wondering what that was about. If you recall several weeks ago we warned you all of a dark artifact in the castle and that it was not to be touched and to alert Professors if you found something odd. Some of you chose to not listen to that and as result have been cursed by the item and are now acting out. We are working on a cure for those that are under its influence and will administer it as soon as possible. But until then a professor is stationed to keep others from being cursed as well. Please do not pester them with questions about it as Information is scant at the moment. Also, if you know of any of your friends that are acting out of character, or that have gone missing, please let us know so that we can add them to the list of those that need the cure.
Those of you whose wands where taken yesterday will need to go to your head of house before classes to be given them back just for classes. Please make sure you return your wand to them after class. If you do not return your wand you will be in extra trouble.
Now, it is unknown exactly what the dark artifact is but we do know that it changes people. If people are acting out of character please report them directly to your professors and escort them to the Hospital Wing.
Whatever we are facing, we must be on alert. Just like our former Headmaster Fox taught us and the current Head of the Lions drills every week, ‘Constant Vigilance.’ We will overcome this just like every other danger that we have faced.
