It appears this anonymous letter slipped into the stack being sent to the press. It is anonymous and quite… ominous.
“Beware the Ides of March,”
A simple warning given to the muggle Roman Emperor as a warning to his imminent death. Perhaps I have waited to long to share this information, and for that I beg for forgiveness to those that I could not warn. I was not sure the meanings of the warnings until now. However, I feel that it is time to step into the shoes of the soothsayer that the Muggle author wrote about in his play.
I say to you this:
Beware the darkening hours of night fall.
Beware the forest.
More attacks are coming.
But, there is more to this warning.
Beware walking alone at night within the hallowed grounds of this castle, something lurks on the land around it that is seeking to destroy the lives of as many people as possible-something that we all need to be aware of. It seems to hunt either in the twilight hours of the day or at night. Because of this, we must be aware of our surroundings. I do not wish to cause chaos or confusion but our school home has been under attack once again.
Be aware of your surroundings. I know I just said this but this is critical. Not many people were aware of the woman dressed in full fur robes in Hogsmeade the last weekend of January, the weekend before the full moon. But she was there, staring at us with a sneer. No, not just a sneer but a look of disdain, a look that chilled me to the bone. This same woman, I saw two times in a dream. Now, our divination professors can attest that dreams are critical to pay attention to so heed my warnings as I describe this dream for you.
Like I said, I saw this woman twice. Once as a young girl, a life lost, and then again, cloaked and hidden in the shadows. Her life now nothing more than slinking from shadow to shadow, afraid of who and what she has become. She is very bitter inside which makes her likely to lash out at anyone. And it seems, at least to me, that this woman has. I cannot describe her any further than that because I do not wish to cause a mob to attack her. It was night and there was a wolf hidden in the mists, scared. An orange cat wandering the forest by moonlight. These are all of the images I saw in my dream.
I am now free and released to warn my fellow witches and wizards. Something is coming. And it…whatever it is. It is not finished with us yet.
