Welcome!

Here is where you can apply for a student character at Mischief Managed. Please fill out every field in this application, and make sure to follow ALL directions. Once submitted, your application will be sent to our ALOs, who will get back with you within 7 days with regards to your application status. Your Character's Backstory What has made them who they are today.

Backstory. (If writing in paragraphs, please write in Third Person Narrative). Bullet points or an outline are perfectly fine.

When writing your backstory, details are key. The more you know about your student, the easier and more fun it is to roleplay them. You can write as little or as much as you like, as long as you touch on the following:

Parents - basic info, professions, etc.
Your character's childhood - important events, general home life (can be brief)
Your character's first showing of magic
Your character's general personality
(OPTIONAL for Second Years and above) A general summary of your character's past experience at Hogwarts

These aren't the only things you have to discuss in your backstory - they are just ideas to get you started. Write as little or as much as you like, but keep in mind backstories that are too vague will result in you being asked by an ALO to go more in-depth.

Roleplay Example Where you show your roleplaying skills.

RP SAMPLE 3: Dinner has arrived at Hogwarts and your character is enjoying a meal with his or her fellow Housemates when a sound of yells can be heard from one of the other House tables. Suddenly a hex shrieks right by your character followed by the telltale signs of a fight breaking out. What would your character do during this? Please write a sample describing the response your character would have. (Note: This would take place during dinner on the sim which usually involves many RPers and numerous posts of all lengths and styles. The pace is sometimes seen as fast with the number of people involved. Please write your sample as if you are replying to your turn to post in this situation)

Acceptance of sim rules

By submitting your application, you agree to abide by the rules (both the IC Rules and OOC Rules) of the Mischief Managed roleplay sim. Failure to read these rules upon submitting your application does not mean the rules do not apply to you.
