Greetings and Salutations! I’m Kayli Byrne, and I was lucky enough to sit down with Hufflepuff’s very best, their Prefects! With their line up being Reika Dubois, Lilith Ashworth, Jace Hume, and James Mathews!
Starting off strong, I asked all of them how they reacted to being picked to be a Hufflepuff prefect. Reika was surprised her first year being a prefect, as was Lilith, who’s goal is to be Head girl one day. Jace Hume and James Mathews both were surprised however both have goals to make their commons and housemates always feel welcome and wanted. Then I had to ask what they would like to have as a sweet treat. Lilith was anything caramel, James loves Feathersweets different array of Lollis, Rieka has a soft spot for Fizzing Whizbees, while Jace goes for the muggle classic, Cherries Garcia!
Next had to be a harder question. What is the color that draws them in? AKA. What’s their favourite colour? Lilith’s answer was Orange, with a partial liking for deep green. ((Editor’s note, It may be her family’s history in Slytherin!)) Reika’s was Indigo, commenting on how the night sky is her calm place to be. James answered green, while Jace’s fashionista tactics have him loving all shades of the rainbow, but purple might just be the one if he had to choose.
Another question that was brought up, was everyone’s favorite classes! While everyone said different subjects, it was interesting to know that Huffle’s aren’t all the same! Lilith’s love for charms and transfiguration weren’t any match for James’ love for flying. Nor did it shine a light for the love Jace and James have for Art class. Reika’s love for herbology doesn’t go quite undetected as the older Huffle has a longing to help the plants and creatures in small ways.
Lastly, I asked if they all had any advice for first years. All of them wanted to let the firsties know, Not to quit, Keep going, Make friends, And not everyone is good at everything. We all have weaknesses and strengths. It’s up to us to bring them out of each other. Also, the prefects are always there for us when needed!
Well, that’s a wrap! Thanks Huffle Prefects for letting me bother you!
