Every student carries questions, worries, and tangled thoughts that don’t always fit neatly into a class or a conversation. The Listening Owl is here for those moments. Write in, and I will listen closely not to judge, but to offer guidance, encouragement, and a bit of wisdom to help light your way forward. No voice is too small, no question too strange. The Owl is listening.
I’m an introvert, but I struggle with making friends within the school. I’d love to create long lasting friendships at Hogwarts!!

Dear Del,
As an introvert to a fellow introvert, welcome to the club! Believe it or not introverts are all over the castle and let me be the first to tell you this castle is exhausting in the best possible way. Before you think about making life long friendships you have to remember to take care of yourself first. Be happy who you are and what you are doing. Because then, something amazing happens. Extroverts (who are strangely always searching for new friends. Sometimes I think they’re like dragons and friends are their hoards!) will naturally start to bring us introverts into their circles.
If you want to hurry the process, we have several things in the castle that you can get involved in and pull yourself out of the introverted shell. What are you interested in? I’m sure there’s a club that will help you find new friends. Another option is to sit with new people in the library during your study times or in the great hall while you are eating. Lots of options to meet new people! It’s just all in how you want to approach it. There are many paths to finding new friends; it just depends on how you want to begin.
Friendships take time, but the best ones often start with the smallest steps. Trust yourself, and the right people will find you.
Hoot-fully yours,
—The Listening Owl
