In honor of my last year with my wonderful Head of House Professor Prialux . I will miss her when I graduate. Here is a yummy apple recipe from the part of the UK where she is from! Its a perfect autumn treat.
You will need!
Ingredients
- ½ lb plain flour
- ¼ lb suet or Butter
- 1½ lb apples (peeled, cored and chopped)
- ½ lb demerara sugar
- ¼ tsp of nutmeg
- ¼ tsp of cinnamon
- ¼ tsp of mixed spice
- ½ teacup of water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 egg
Equipment needed
- Measuring cups
- Measuring spoons
- Bowls
- 7 inch (18cm) square tin
Instructions
- Mix the apples and spices up and let stand while doing the next step.
- Rub the butter or suet into the flour until it is like breadcrumbs.
- Add all of the other dry ingredients and the apple spice mix and mix well.
- Add the egg and the water and again mix well.
- Sprinkle some sugar on top
- Place in a 7 inch (18cm) square tin and cook in a low oven for 2 hours until golden brown.
