Weekly Portents

May 7, 2030

Hello everyone. 

This week I will be dropping the veil and taking a break from the pomp and circumstance and all the mysterious nonsense because I need to talk real with you for once. There has been an incident and I’m of the belief that the castle itself and everyone within is in serious danger. I believe that an attack the likes of which we haven’t seen since the Battle of Hogwarts is coming. 

Not long after the school year began, the seers within the castle began having shared visions. These visions started small and have been slowly building their way up to something massive. Each one of these visions has featured someone outside the castle walls searching for some powerful magical artifact. A ring, to be specific, though what it does I do not know. I believe there have been either four or five of these visions thus far, each growing and building on the last. 

The most recent of these visions featured the beasts of the forbidden forest in battle against wixen-kind. I do not know for certain but I believe that the visions are indicating that this person has obtained some powerful artifact that allows them to control the creatures or has otherwise convinced the creatures to join their side. Regardless of how they managed it, I believe that the unseen forces at work here have managed to get the creatures of the forest to do their bidding against us. 

There were glimpses of things most alarming in this most recent vision as well. Specifically the barrier around this castle, Professor Fox’s barrier that he gave his life for, gone. Destroyed. Following this was an image of Hogwarts castle, the place we call our very home, ablaze then later a pile of rubble and ash.

Worst of all is that the vision indicates that it is coming soon. The beginning of June, specifically. Just under a month to prepare ourselves for coming unknown.

But this is only ONE possible outcome of many. 

We cannot let that horrible nightmare become our future! 
We must fight back against this pending threat!
We will not allow our castle to be destroyed!

But how, you say? We’re just simple students, you say? 

You are NOT simple students! You are wixen! You are WARRIORS! You are the bravest, wisest, most cunning, and most determined that Hogwarts has to offer! And you will endure the coming storm and be victorious!

But how? 

By being prepared for anything! By keeping your wand with you at all times! By practicing your spells every bloody day whether you think you need to or not!

That being said, keep your brain working too. Don’t go looking for a fight or charging into battle, pretending to be some idiotic hero-figure, and get yourselves killed but be prepared to fight tooth and nail if you must!

And most of all keep your eyes open. Always! 

If you see or hear anything suspicious, tell your professors, your head of house, or Professor Blightly if you need. If you’re not comfortable with that or they won’t listen then you tell ME! This is our castle, and we will not let anyone or anything take it from us!
