Welcome back everyone to, without question, the most exciting part of your week. The part where we climb up to the high-dive then take the plunge into the cold black waters of our future!
Last we met, we used some ancient New Year’s divination and found we were right on the edge between the good and bad. How’s the month treated you? Nothing to fret if things have been down this past month. The year is still young and the night is always darkest before the dawn.
This week we’ll be doing something rather simple and since it’s the most romantic time of the year I’ve decided to focus on seeking a bit of romantic advice the week or so to come before the Hearty Party.
Now there’s loads of methods of Love Divination including the classic “they loves me they loves me not” bit with plucking flower petals off and those origami paper things with the numbers and junk and there’s even Tarot spreads dedicated to love and romance.
One might think it’d be prudent of me to use one of those methods but nah! I’m just doing a bit of scrying with the old crystal ball because it’s been too long. Or guess you could say it’s because of the powers of the universe steering me toward scrying. Whatever.
Tonight I’m sat in the Divs tower with the crystal ball on the table in front of me. Feels like bloody ages since I’ve been up here and forgot how much I miss it. Anyway, tonight I waste no time and dive right into it. I run my hands over the crystal ball and stare deep into it, letting myself sink into it until the room around me is but a quiet blur.
For a long time it’s just me and the crystal ball and my mind slowly goes blank before the images start to appear.
I see…
It’s a long and winding trail. And we’re on it. Not just me or you but bloody all of us. Following the trail of life wherever it leads. Ahead of us are many branching paths but as we pass the branches close themselves off, leaving just the one trail behind us. No going back, it seems.
Every so often there are stops where we collect things. Trinkets, tools, experiences, joys, hardships, so many many things. Some good. Some bad. Some useful. Some absolute rubbish. Some funny. Some terrifying.
Just as we come to another of those stops the image fades and I’m once again back in the classroom. I have a sip of water while I consider it as I watch the incense fizzle and burn out, the little stream of smoke doing one last little twirl as it dissipates into nothing.
Reckon this is one of those “be yourself” sort of lessons, yeah? We’re being told that every moment in our whole bloody lives led us to where we are right now and even if it’s not where we want to be it’s exactly where we need to be. At the same time we’re being told we can’t change the past because it’s long over and done but there’s also many branches in the path ahead of us. We’re also being encouraged to reflect on our past and not be afraid to use all those experiences and tools and things we’ve picked up along the way to help us make our decisions now.
That’s all for this week’s reading, Hogwarts! Keep yourself on the long and winding road of life and keep charging forward and all that!
Happy trails!
