Let’s do the time warp again! It’s just a jump to the left, and then a step to the right. Put your hands on your hips, and bring your knees in tight.
The times, they are a changin! or Time waits for no one! This is the time of year where we lose time. The weather changes. Rain? Sleet? Snow? Sure! Bring it on! But, what will we wear? Glitter, shoulder pads and houndstooth? Is that what we really want to put on? Not me!
With the thrill of the Halloween Bash and the Champions parties all behind us, what else is there to plan for? Personally, I am looking forward to this weekend’s Death Day Party. Besides that, there is always some awkward social moment or another. Those are usually just waiting to pounce on us when we are blissfully unaware. As a case in point, how about that Snaps Club? It behooves us all to try to look our best. We never know what or who is waiting just around the corner.
When the weather starts to turn colder, it’s time to layer it up. Not ready to put all of those sleeveless summer dresses to the back of the closet yet? Just add a long sleeved shirt, tee shirt or a sweater vest to some of those summer favourites and you’ll be using them long into the fall season. Short and midi skirts are great to layer up with ribbed tights and a good pair of boots.
With the rain and chilly corridors, I feel most comfortable in a cozy sweater. Comfy sweaters and high waisted jeans are totally the rage this season. I like mine to be soft and delicate. However, I have been known to wear a few chunkier ones. I rely on them to make me look good and to keep me warm. But the looking good part comes first, right? You can either choose big bold cable knit patterns and bright jewel toned colours or try something that would be way less obvious. One thing is for sure, winter will be much more comfortable with a few. So, pick your style and stick to it!
It’s a brilliant idea to think about what you will be pairing your sweaters up with. High waisted jeans, wide legged trousers, short and midi skirts are what we’ll be buying up this year. But, what about the jackets? We got to have jackets, don’t we? Faux fur, serpa fleece, lots of fringe, suede or denim are what we’ll find in stock. Top it all off with a knit hat, scarf and gloves and you’ve got a fabulous fall ensemble. Remember, it’s all in the details!
That’s it from the Fashion Bug. That’s me! Once a month, we’ll be here to talk about fashion, make up and/or the art of putting it all together. Next month: December’s Snowy Fun and the Yule Ball!
