As is ever there is the tradition when an Editor of The Owl Post graduates to try and make them cry in the sneakiest way possible.
Persephone Vitrac, we love you.
You are amazing and thank you for keeping us all on the (semi) straight and narrow. Kick butt playing quidditch and all that you do. PS–sorry about the leg.
– Essa Nazari
I’m so glad you’ve been here and our editor at the Owl Post! It isn’t going to be at all the same without you as the editor! Thank you for all you’ve done! It was so much fun going against you at Quidditch the past two years, and knowing that you were there to make sure none of us died.
– Sam Jones
All the best for the future and never stop being fierce! Maybe see you on a quidditch pitch in the future. 😉
– Casey Champion
Thank you for taking on the (sometimes flaming) baton and carrying it with such incredible poise. I’ve never been more proud of you.
– Saffron Macauley
When I met you, I thought you were an annoying little booger of a person. Honestly I figured you were one of those people I wouldn’t end up caring for. Funny how life is like that, I don’t think we ever got closer than passing conversations but you always have given me solid truth when I have come to you. Where you could have easily dismissed me like everyone else, you stood there and let me have it. I don’t think there is any other Slytherin who deserves a good life more than you, so I hope whatever you do out there you give it the ol Green Determination and energy. Caps it was a good show, and we’re all going to be rooting for you from Hogwarts…..so do wonders.
– Noma Nyx
Percy, I’ve looked up to you since first year and I just can’t believe you’re finally leaving us! As you go off to do great things, don’t forget about us small folk back at Hogwarts! I am so excited for you, though… be amazing, as only you can be. Thank you for your support, advice, life lessons, occasional coddling, and healthy competition over the years. You are an inspiration to us all! Much love, Talula
Angel, I am going to miss you, I know we don’t get a lot of time to hang out, and likely even less time now that you are graduating. But you will always be my guardian Angel. I wish you every happiness in life, and success in everything you do.
– Drayan Ashworth
I have never liked you, there is never been a question in that, but through everything, I do respect you, you have a natural command that is extremely hard to ignore. I confess, I am jealous of how easy you make it all seem and i must confess, It will be dreary next year without you.
– Verity Ashworth
Dear Percy, you have been one of the witches I look up to most as an example of how to be brave and graceful. We will try to come to all of your quidditch games! Love, Hayden and Marlee
You saved my life and I guess it made Hogwarts feel a bit safer for me while you were here. It’s going to be so hard to see you go, especially since I am afraid that I’ll never see you again. You say I will, but life happens and it scares me to see you go. You will always have a place in my world! And I’ll try to make you proud. I got your front, please don’t forget me.
– Lex
Dear Persephone,
Thank you for being such a strong influence in the school. I know I only knew you for one year, but you were very nice to me and very willing to talk about stuff with me so I was more educated. When the Holyhead Harpies play, I’ll be cheering for you!
– Everlina Kindred
Thank you for putting up with our ideas – some great, some…questionable!
– Johanna Carstairs
Goodbye!! 🙁 Owl Post won’t be the same without you. Thank you for everything.
– Alison Bailes
You’re gonna be an amazing Harpy and whatever else you want to be. Pretty sure we’ll still see each other at times. But you will be missed in the castle.
– Marigold
Thank you for all you’ve done for Hogwarts, for us. As you lift and soar, may all of your dreams come true.
– Caitlin Spector
Thank you so much Missus Vitrac for trusting me with the owl post, I want to do you proud and I will, I promise! Good luck being even more famous ampu-buddy!
– Leonora Clements
Little birdy told me about this. I’m So proud of you. Can’t wait to have you back more in my life now that we’re both graduated.
– Aisling Colquhoun
I wish you well in all your future endeavours. I was glad to have known you, even when we are on opposite sides of the pitch wanting to kill each other. 😛
– Jayden Lukas
You will surely be missed, especially as one of the best Quidditch captains I have ever had – even though you’ve been the only captain. One of the best prefects among other things as well. I hope graduation treats you well!
– Abigail B.
You’ve been an incredible editor to work under. Thanks for helping me through my first articles. With your help, I think that I can grow into being an actual reporter! I wish you luck in all of your future endeavors <3
– Kitten Delacruz
Where the wandering water gushes
From the hills above Glen-Car,
In pools among the rushes
That scarce could bathe a star,
We seek for slumbering trout
And whispering in their ears
Give them unquiet dreams;
Leaning softly out
From ferns that drop their tears
Over the young streams.
Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand.
– From a poem by Yeats
It has been a long seven years. It is hard to believe, really.
But it is now time to come away, O human child, to a world full of weeping, yes, but full of joys and challenges alike. Good luck as you take your first steps into that world, and I’m sure we’ll meet again out there when it is my turn to come away.
– Emily Neutron
Hey Perse. I can’t really say much for your skills as an editor (REALLY, you guys wrote that I was 12 for Nishi’s tourney?! It’s June! I’ve been 13 for months! And let’s not even get started on those ridiculous stats. You let Snora write them, didn’t you?!) but somehow you’ve managed to grow on me as a person in spite of everything that’s happened. I like you, okay? And I’m going to miss you. Lots. The team won’t be the same without you and Cary here to lead us (we’ll still be miles better than these other losers, don’t get me wrong, but still not the same!). With all of my heart, I wish you (and Lysander I suppose) all the best for the future. I’m happy we got to be friends, even if it was only for a little while.
– Octavia Dechants
To my beautiful cousin,
You are loved much more than you know. I wish you happiness in this road ahead. I hope you write me and I truly hope you always take that leap of faith! Life won’t be the same here at Hogwarts without you but I’ll manage somehow.
– Julia Vitrac
Perse, you’re graduating finally! The days have gone by too long since I’ve walked the halls of the school to see you. I wish you the best in your future, thank you for letting me take part in the Owl Post when I was there. I know we will see great things from you ♥
– Minnie Ivy
Perse, these past 7 yrs have been a whirlwind for us, but I think even more for you. I watched you learn and strive to move forward, not letting certain challenges be a detriment to you. I am so glad that I was able to be somewhat closer in your life and get to know you when we both became prefects. You are going to be nothing but great outside these walls, and I am looking forward to seeing you on a broom shortly. Good Luck with your future endeavors, though I am sure you are going to knock it out of the park. (PS if you ever need a place to crash in London, Owl me!)
– Maddy.
Persephone, I have been incredibly honoured to make your acquaintance in my time at Hogwarts. Your dedication to The Owl Post has been greatly appreciated and I cannot wait to see you go on and do great things
– Professor O’Keeffe
Thanks for being so kind to me this last year, Persephone! You have a good heart, even if you don’t want people to know it. We are all going to miss you!
– Leah Calhoun
You loved the Owl Post and because of that it truly flourished. You gave students a voice, you gave some students a chance to shine and find themselves through the Post, and you gave us all a light that cast out the dark
– Donte Fletcher
Congratulations on all your hard work and editing of things!
– Bonnie
Heya Seph,
It’s been a fun ride. Wishing you the best of luck in your future endeavours. Thanks for all the help and guidance along the way. I can only hope to be half the leader you are.
Much love,
Iain
Thank you for being a friend. I admit I was pretty intimidated by you when we first met but since then I’ve realized my assumptions were all wrong. You’re one of the kindest and most supportive people I’ve met. You believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself, you took a chance on me in quidditch, and for that I’m forever grateful. You helped shape my future and I hope you’re aware of that.
I wish nothing but the best for you and I can’t wait to come to one of your games and cheer you on.
Keep in touch.
– Elliott Reid
