Kamila Bullstrod, Manager and Seamstress at Madam Malkin’s Robes for All Occasions
I started off at Madam Malkin’s as shop employee, I had applied during my last year at school.
I have always had a thing for fashion and creating clothes since the age of 9, my mother who is a famous designer in Paris, Angelina Bullstrod, has been my inspiration and mentor.
It is not just being able to create clothes but design them, knowing what fabric to use for what particular dress , robe , suit or garment, but understanding the customer and what they want.
Running the shop isn’t easy, very early mornings, measuring one customer after the other, making sure they are happy with what they asked for in regards to clothes also providing a service with a smile and politeness, even on the hardest of days, having to order fabrics from other countries and attend meetings with fabric providers and other designers, understanding what is trending and how to catch the customers eye.
Classes which helped the most were Charms, Transfiguration and Homemaking magic, i personally feel these three subjects have helped with my job, as long as you get good enough grades for all three, you will be perfect for the job!.
A lot has changed since graduation, I am the mother to two children, Klara and Christian, i have a small farm in a hidden community up north, I’ve moved a lot due to… issues, but I am doing well, things have changed for the better but with more responsibility.
For any student wanting to apply for madam malkins as student experience or as a full time job, the following is required.
