by Saffron Foxclaw
It’s a bright and breezy Wednesday, not long until the end of the week. Your intrepid reporter today is none other than Saffron Foxclaw, whose hair is beautifully coiffed to catch the light of the sun and she sits pretty in a perfectly prim and proper pencil skirt as she casually awaits her interviewee of the day.
Many of you will remember the sorting ceremony of Saturday just gone and the poor unfortunate student who was left almost forgotten ’til the last? Well Saffron caught up with that student to see how she’s been doing since.
The girl arrives, a short first year (well I suppose they’re always short) in Gryffindor uniform by the name Persephone Puddle (recently reported to be causing a disturbance during meal times). She takes a seat opposite the glamorous Miss Foxclaw who begins her first line of questioning.
In her lovely (ha!) Scottish lilt Saffron quizzes the girl on receiving her Hogwarts letter before leading on to her first moment within the magical world.
“Well when I got on the train I was incredibly late, I couldn’t find the opening that all the other students found so quickly into 9 3/4, I ended up frantically throwing my luggage at the wall like a loony, and by the time someone helped me, a Slytherin girl named, Elise, rushed me through the opening and had us hurtling to the train as is it started moving along.”
Thankfully, despite the young girl almost losing her trunks to the train station wall, Persephone found herself in the stunning halls of Hogwarts and despite being “nervous as a lobster getting ready to be cooked,” she made her way amongst her fellow first years to be sorted.
The list was read out and Professor Fox got well past the P’s before Persephone realised she had been missed. Our resplendent, stunning Headmistress Fischer took to the podium, about to start. Thankfully Professor Ipswich alerted the Headmistress who kindly invited her to take a seat and be sorted.
When asked about her tear jerking line of “please sort me into a house where I won’t be alone,” Persephone blushes at the feat of adorableness that broke many hearts throughout the hall that day.
“When I asked the sorting hat to put me in a house where I would belong, where there would be future friends, where….where I wouldn’t feel so isolated all the time. And when he put me in Gryffindor I screamed with joy thinking that the hat answered for my heart. I was jumping with joy after that.”
Your writer will pause a moment to allow you to wipe your tears.
Thankfully Persephone seems to have found her home, though despite a few worries over Gryffindors not being intelligent, your writer decided against voicing her personal views and assured her that Lions do indeed have brains between their ears.
So here I leave Persephone Puddle “crippled with bad luck and daydreaming fantasies of Professor Adler.”
Until next time.
