The following are rules related to what your character can (ICly) be carrying at any given time. It doesn’t make for a fair environment if characters can carry everything they ever need, all the time. RPD may request you make adjustments to what you are claiming to carry if it is deemed to be unfair.

  • Your HUD inventory represents a magically extended container but only holds the items in your HUD inventory. 
  • Other magically extended containers must be obtained IC from someone who has access to the undetectable extension spell who can create the object
    • You cannot claim that ‘so and so relative’ gave you the magically extended container, it must be acquired IC and RP logs may be requested to prove its validity
    • The creator must roll the spell successfully in your presence
    • The internal dimensions must be defined at the time of creation
      • Internal functional storage space cannot exceed 6’x4’x2’ – roughly the size of a wardrobe or armoire – without RPD approval
      • It is a good idea to keep track of the contents on your own on a notecard. The contents must be consistent across RP’s and if there is a challenge made to to what you are claiming to carry, RPD/moderators may request that you declare all items.
  • You are limited to one (1) magically extended container on your person in addition to your HUD inventory
  • Extended containers cannot be “Russian dolled” ie. you cannot put extended containers inside other extended containers
  • Shrunk (reducio’d) items will become full size upon being put in the container
    • Additionally, you are only permitted to carry a total of 3 reducio’d / featherlight charmed items with you in regular pockets, bags, etc.
      • Please remember that reducio and featherlight charms will wear off within a few hours.
  • All Hogwarts students are permitted one (1) magically extended trunk that only contains standard school supplies and would not leave your dorm room (except during the Hogwarts Express ride, which would be the only time you are technically permitted two extended containers in addition to your HUD – the Hogwarts trunk, and one other extended container)
    • Unlike other containers, mokeskin bags can go in your Hogwarts trunk
  • Any other scenarios that would require carrying more should be sent to RPD as a plot submission
