Dear Cream Crackered,
The Eight of Pentacles here is not telling you to rush back in, it is telling you to get serious and prepare. This card is about steady work, focus and using your skills properly. Take it as a sign to tighten things up. Practise the spells you would actually need in a pinch and synchronize with older students so that you are not wandering about alone in trouble spots. Report what you saw to someone! A Prefect, a Matron or a Professor that deals with creatures. They’ll be sure to get the word out! You are not meant to fight the whole menagerie on your own, you are meant to be smart enough to survive it.
