RESPECT OTHERS
Werewolves & Vampires
I cannot believe I am writing this, but the things I have been hearing have been unacceptable. In future articles, I plan to dive deeper into the intricacies of werewolves, vampires, and other beings in an effort to ensure Hogwarts is a place where everyone is respected and accepted. As well as informed of potential dangers, if any exist.
The bottom line is: Respect your fellow werewolf students & vampire faculty.
I shouldn’t even have to say it.
Nobody chooses these afflictions. Those affected are not inherently evil. They are worthy of the same courtesy that others are given. They are important members of our community. They matter.
Any and all jokes, insults, misinformation, and weird experiments are unethical, rude, and downright unacceptable.
Do better Hogwarts.
WEREWOLF DOS AND DON’TS
- DO support werewolf friends before and after the full moon
- DO keep their affliction a secret, unless they themselves have made the public aware
- DO stay safe on the full moon & know the risks
- DON’T talk about or plot experiments that will endanger lives
- DON’T make people out to be monsters
- DON’T make statements that turn werewolves into a joke
VAMPIRE DOS AND DON’TS
- DO respect those who peacefully dwell in our castle and mean nobody any harm.
- DO ask respectful questions if they are comfortable
- DO inform yourself about vampires & know the risks of those who might mean you harm outside these walls
- DON’T walk around wearing garlic or carrying wooden stakes and the like
- DON’T treat them like monsters
- DON’T plot driving them out of the castle (unless we have an unexpected intruder)
