Hallo!
My Name is Titania Tarrowwood and I’m a 2nd year Hufflepuff and I’m going to tell you everything I have learned about the Haggis Animals about the grounds! That’s the kinda oblong brown, fluffy critters that you are seeing about like in the herbology greenhouses or by the hut.. Yes I know that Haggis is ALSO a food made by stuffing a sheep’s stomach with stuff . But there’s apparently also a critter!
Why am I telling you about them? I think I was one of the first people to SEE them. It was last year at the May trip to Hogsmeade. There was a man with a wagon that had cages of them in it! And one in the front seat with some daisies. He told me the animals were called Haggis and that he was taking them to their new owner. He said they loved to eat Daisies and were very sweet and playful. And so soft! Just a nice sweet cute animal and he let me pet one. Then he had to go.
I dunno what happened after that but not too long after is when we started seeing them about the castle grounds. Then Professor Ramscraig must have heard or seen a lot of them as he arranged for us to all meet on the grounds and try to track some down to gather up. We did and put them in a pen to give to the ministry so they can figure out where they came from.
But I guess they breed like bunnies as there’s still MORE out there! If you are nice to them they are nice back. Feed them daisies, toss a ball at them to play with, Kinda like cats! They’ll come up and snuggle with you and you can pet them. Just be wary they have super long tongues like Pufskins and may go for your nose with long distance kisses!
And I GUESS I should mention we’re supposed to put them in the pen next to the groundskeeper’s hut if you manage to catch one as well. Just be nice! They are mostly harmless unless you’re mean then they get kinda furious! So don’t be mean to them!
