For this edition’s Fashion Queue, we showcase the fabulous styling of two best friends! Seventh year Gryffindors, Charlotte “Charlie” Merle and Imogen “Gen” Featherstone take the concept of this piece on a bit of a spin with their casual outfits and formal dresses.
Let us begin with their casual outfits! As Scotland makes the transition from the long winter to the very beginnings of spring, the two lionesses are certainly dressed for the weather. Charlie wears a loose fitting silk blouse paired with a flowing animal printer maxi skirt. It’s common knowledge that she’s quite the singer and with the fringed scarf and stunner shades, she’s already a rock star. Gen’s outfit starts with a cozy sweater paired with an A-line vertical striped skirt to really accentuate those legs. Alas, it is still a bit chilly, so she wears black knee high socks trimmed with black and white fabric. She accessorizes this outfit with a black and gold fitted hat and a large statement belt. To truly convey the casual vibe of this outfit, their looks are completed with sneakers. Both these outfits highlight the hottest trends of the upcoming season, so if you’re looking for your own next time you’re in Hogsmeade — they were actually owl delivered from former Gryffindor Ahreum Song who just so happens to be a supermodel in Japan now. Fancy, fancy.
While there are no other scheduled dances for the remaining part of the year, who needs a dance to wear your best formal attire? Gen wears a pastel pink dress that form fits at the top and flows at the skirt. The top part of her formal wear is slightly sheer with lace embellishments that proves she is the belle of any ball. And for the gentlemen, I have it on good authority that she is single, so line up! Bold like any lion, Charlie’s dress is a deep red that hugs her curves in all the best ways. She accessorizes this dress with a large statement piece necklace and a sheer red cape. Unfortunately, she is engaged to Logan Ashworth, but perhaps one of the dashing young men at Hogwarts might convince her otherwise!
While there is a dress code at Hogwarts, there is enough freedom within it to truly individualise your style. Fashion is expressive and offers an excellent opportunity to showcase who you are. Keep a look-out for our next piece, and who knows? Maybe you’ll be next in our Fashion Queue!
