Hello again, Hogwarts! I hope you’ve all have had a wonderful summer, and as for our new first years, welcome! As we return to the castle so does the news, as many of us seem to be rather happy to be back at school, one could wonder if the school is happy to see us back. It has been nothing but showers since we’ve came back, showers and nifflers I dare say! Now we’ve got all the formalities out of the way, and all the sorting done and students back to class, we are back to the Sunday feast! Our ever so lovely Deputy Headmistress greeted us today with a short but sweet speech, filled with nothing but inspiration for the forthcoming year. Although if you were wanting some real information about any of our missing objects, you would of been out of luck. Yes this speech was all about points, house points, and points to help get you through the year.
Ever so with the mistress’s speeches there is always the undertone of working together to succeed. I would dare say to work past your differences, and work towards the greater good of your house, and all together school life. As much as the castle was divided last year, we need to work harder to come together this year. Even if that means cheering on a house that is not your own at a Qudditch game, or even perhaps something as simple as helping a younger year figure out a charm. Something so little can make such a positive impact on someone’s day, and they will perhaps go and pay that small deed forward. I think the point was made very clearly to everyone that if the house of Salazar Slytherin can put their own difference aside and strive for success. What happens when the whole castle works together towards success? Even in something as simple as catching that bloody niffler… or whatever is stealing our stuff. ‘Til next week Hogwarts.
