Although it’s Summer-time, the students and members of the Owl Post are always working to keep you connected. Homes and especially your bedrooms, as everyone knows, are places of sanctuary and privacy, where you can truly express yourself. A person’s home shows how their everyday life goes, and their bedrooms speak volumes about their personalities. So, we’re visiting and showcasing the homes, bedrooms, and even yards of our dear students. Asking for willing parties, today’s home that we present to you, belongs to one of our Gryffindor students, Maddy Hemlock!
As the leaves begin to turn, the Hemlocks prepare their home for the fall months ahead. Using the spell Colovaria, Maddy’s father, Damien helped her change the colors of her bedroom. Ocean blues to dark maroons and oranges, Maddy’s room turned into scenes of fallen leaves and earthy tones. Maddy walked about her room refreshed with the changes, excited for school and for a new beginning.
From Summer to Autumn, it brought new hope in the Hemlock household. Though Maddy lived in a Muggle suburb, her room still was equipped with signs of magic. In a pinch, she would be able to hide those signs with a slide of a door. If you peer behind these doors, you will be able to find potions, books, and artifacts for some her favorite classes; Potions, Transfiguration, and Divination.
Only a few feet away from her bed is access to the floo network, just a jump and a skip, she is off to any of her friends’ homes. This summer Maddy spent a lot of time at her friend, Edie’s family summer resort, Jumby, and visiting Kamila’s cottage close to Hogsmeade. Often spending time with Minnie and causing trouble.
Iced coffee, Ingredients, and a mess of drawing paper litter her bedroom. In Maddy’s free time, she liked to sketch and paint images of her studies. If you ever look on her scrolls of parchment, you will notice plenty of sketches depicting herbology notes and historical figures.
A collection of memories hang on a free wall reminding her of the fun adventures that she had this summer.
Not many people know, but Maddy’s main interest, other than drawing, is architecture. Maddy is really fascinated in gothic architecture, ever since she vacationed in Prague. It is really emanate with her choice of bed frame and room divider. Some of the other items in her room incorporate barn wood and rustic finishes. The mixture of the metals and woods add industrial touches to her already warm room. Leaning towards a career in Architecture or Design, Maddy is often studying the halls of Hogwarts on her free time and discovering how it was built. Just don’t tell Maddy’s grandmother or father, to them, they believe she will be an Auror.
