Although it’s Summer-time, the students and members of the Owl Post are always working to keep you connected. Homes and especially your bedrooms, as everyone knows, are places of sanctuary and privacy, where you can truly express yourself. A person’s home shows how their everyday life goes, and their bedrooms speak volumes about their personalities. So, we’re visiting and showcasing the homes, bedrooms, and even yards of our dear students. Asking for willing parties, today’s home that we present to you, belongs to one of our Ravenclaw students, Brynhilde “Bryn” Mclachlan.
Well, hello everyone and welcome to my home. It is placed in a nice area outside of Inverness, Scotland, on the edge of my grandparents’ property. They decided to keep a eye on me during the years to come. One thing is for sure:I was not looking forward to coming home this summer, but I was happy when I saw this.
Coming into the property from the road, you have a nice little forest with my own greenhouse. They have filled this with all types of magical and Muggle plants that one might need to continue to learn potions.
So, coming into my home, the back yard as it is, I have my own swimming pool with a outdoor grill, as well as a place to sit and enjoy the outdoors while eating. I have to say my favourite aspect is the pool. Who would’ve thought I would actually have a pool you know? Honestly, though I love coming out and cooking on my grill.
Walking in from the pool, well besides being pounced by my cat Dat, you can see my kitchen. One thing I have learned is cooking is much like making a few potions, and it has quickly became my favourite pastime of making everything I cook by scratch in this kitchen.
My living room is well where I keep my books, cauldron and other ingredients that I bring in for practicing potions. It’s an all around safe area unless Dat decides to jump up and make herself known, after all she wants everyone to know this is her place, I am not sure why! Maybe it’s because she is always trying to catch my Owl; who knows honestly.
This has to be one of my favourite areas as you can see what I do enjoy in my times. Everything from Deadpool to Final Fantasy is on my walls, and the sharks on the floor, I got from Zero when he had them try and eat my head, and I just felt they would be a good fit, as long as they don’t try and eat any one! Also on my table is my VR Helmet for times when I just want to vanish and pretend to be something else. I also enjoy boxing, thanks to Eden for the gloves and Thomasin for the idea, so I’m always keeping in shape for the next year to come.
My bathroom is next. It’s actually rather nice, it has a shower and a tub but what I love the most about my bathroom is the sink honestly. It has live fish inside of it, so it’s actually a fish tank and a sink. I have to remember to feed them, but that’s rather easy, but it’s perhaps one of the best things about this bathroom, who would’ve thought I would of had one so nice right?
In my bedroom, the bed is on the floor because I did not have a bed spring or frame to place it on, and I really never make it up during the summer. I also have books galore with a window seat to actually sit and watch everything while I read, this is rather comfortable, plus I have some music up here with me to listen to and get lost in my own world. I have a small tree of pictures of those I consider my friends, with even more books scattered around with a dart board to practice throwing darts when i’m really bored.
