When packing our things up to leave to come to school at the start of the year or back to school after winter break, we all have one thing that we have to bring with us. Upon exploring the castle and talking to our fellow schoolmates, I found that each of us have something that we brought with us that reminds us of home. All of us know from time to time what it is like to be homesick, or just miss our mom’s home cooking, but it’s these touches or belongings that help to keep us grounded throughout the school year. It is my honour to be able to share with you everyone’s pieces of home.
Each week we will be taking a look at an item belonging to a student of Hogwarts and getting to chat with them about the item that most represents home to them here while at school. With everything that has been going on around the castle I wanted to take the opportunity to share with you all the one thing that reminds me of home the most, that I have here at school with me. Student’s of Hogwarts, meet Buster.
Buster is pretty well known around the Ravenclaw house as he is in tow with me whenever I can have him with me. Buster has been in my possession since I was born and was given to me by my nanna. My Mum always takes the time to fix him when he gets hurt, and my Da’ has always made sure that he’s never been left behind. I swear when I go to sleep at night, that I can smell home or my Mum’s perfume embedded in the fabric of his clothes or fur. I figured that I would embarrass myself first so that when the time came for me to come asking you all about your piece of home, you might be a bit more likely to share with me.
