Slytherin held on to earn the first win of the season, and third straight against rival Gryffindor, with a final of 260 to 170. Despite a stellar effort from Gryffindor chaser Laney Yorke who piled up 100 points for the Lions with an amazing 89% accuracy, Slytherin’s seeker Varius Corvus was the decisive factor for his team giving them the well deserved win.
[Editor’s Note: Article originally reported that chaser Laney Yorke managed 160 of 170 shots scored. This was an error and we apologise for the discrediting of the hard work other chasers put in.]
The high pace match-up saw Gryffindor hold an edge for most of the time, with much of the scoring from the clubs respective ace’s, including Otter Yves Glaus leading the way for Slytherin with 110 points on 28 shots. Persephone Vitrac lead all beaters with 43 bludgerings for Slytherin, followed by Gryffindors Hunter Devine with 34.
