Hard work. Dedication. Patience. Loyalty. These are the some of the many traits that make up a Hufflepuff and this next person on the Hogwarts spotlight is just that. This Hogwarts student hails from London, though he also has roots in India and the Middle east. Now in his sixth year at Hogwarts, Morgan Maldive is just one of many Hufflepuffs to call the school home.
In the time he has been here, Morgan has worked his way up to become not just one of the Hufflepuff prefects. This was most likely a great choice since his patience and hard work showed throughout the entire interview. He explained further that Hufflepuff fit his personality best but added on that,
“You can also be placed in Hufflepuff if you have the capacity for these traits, you don’t necessarily need to have them off the get go. I trust the hat to know me best.”
However, he did add-on that he could’ve been in Ravenclaw because of his love of books.
With that Hufflepuff dedication, Morgan’s favorite class would have to be between Transfiguration and Herbology. For transfiguration, he says, “It is the only class I have any natural talent for.” This is due to that he doesn’t struggle with the homework nor find it stressful on top of challenging. Herbology on the other hand, he chose it because he views Professor DracheBlume as a role model. Speaking of Herbology, Morgan has said he wants to become a Herbologist, though previous goals were dragon keeper and magizoologist. Maybe his goal will change again, and he might play for his favorite Quidditch team, The Appleby Arrows.
One place where his hard works shows is out on the Quidditch field where he was the beater for the team. He recalled that winning the Quidditch Cup last year one of his best memories of Hogwarts so far – besides “dumping a huge bucket of Chocolate Frogs on [his] best friend and girlfriend.” While one might think that was a waste of good chocolate, he loves to cook in his spare time, so he must have had a reason. Along with cooking, he also loves stargazing and singing, though he does the latter when alone.
Speaking of sweets and cooking, he did say that Chocolate frogs were his favourite sweets for a multitude of reasons. “Pygmy puff ran away? Chocolate frog. Prank? Frogs! Treat? Frogs. Need to scare the cat off the sofa because he’s taking your spot? Throw a frog at him. You’ll never see a cat jump so high SO FAST. EVER. It’s hilarious,” he listed. When it comes to ice cream however, his favourite flavour is Maple ice cream in warm butterbeer with both nutmeg cinnamon on top, drizzled in honey.
So next time you see Morgan in the hallways, maybe throw him a chocolate frog. Maybe you could talk to him to see how well the Appleby Arrows are doing or ask him for help with either Herbology or Transfiguration homework. This Hufflepuff will surely brighten up your day.
Stay tuned in because next week, the Hogwarts spotlight will shine on a Ravenclaw student.
