First there were the missing mandrakes. Now it would seem that the greenhouses have been under renovation for a new resident. Who exactly is Edna? Why would they possibly need such lengthy renovations to accommodate her. Since Herbology deals with the study of plants perhaps Edna is not a person at all. The greenhouses have been pretty much closed off since the start of school. Only the first couple of classes were held there.
Perhaps the Herbology Professors have been conducting experiments with cross breeding of various magical plants. Maybe this Edna is the result. The fact that we have not seen this Edna means that she may be a potential danger to students. Either that or she is just very grumpy and prefers to be left alone. Let us hope that no students find out the hard way. Almost nothing is known about this Edna. Still it is curious to know just what is planned for us all in Herbology. What is your theory on Edna?
The Editor remembers faintly the plant that inhabited the greenhouses in years gone by when she was a young student so went to find the Herbology professors to investigate Jayden’s theories.
Professor Dumorney was asked first if there was a reason the greenhouses have been shut off for so long and if there is any truth to the rumours that Edna has been reinstalled into her – some would say – rightful place?
Your writer was informed that
“All will be revealed in good time but that Edna is not to be messed with not even by Seventh Year students.”
Which felt, at least to your loquacious writer, a polite way for saying “I don’t know either.”
Moving on to Professor von DracheBlume – who was asked the same question, she told your lovely writer
“After the mandrake theft it was thought wise to redo all of the glass in the houses with stronger unbreakable panes. This transition is taking some time as yes, Edna is being put back in and she keeps breaking the glass near her. She’s even been able to break the magically unbreakable glass, we’re not sure why. She was put back in place to act as a “guard plant” over the rest of the plants. “
Hardly sounds safe, we’ll just have to wait and see until the doors are unlocked.
