There is a lingering smell of citrus around the pile of this week’s edition of ‘The Owl Post’… Even the copy you pick up smells faintly orange-y… Maybe you should read it somewhere warm?
Where would you say is the most haunted place on earth?
Well, that is a difficult question to answer, but I must say, thus far the most haunted place that I have visited is Bhangarh Fort in Bhangarh, India. It is quite a dangerous site, and even muggles refuse to allow anyone to be there after dark, lest they be killed by the spirits trapped there.
Do you prefer Ghouls over Ghosts?
I’d have to say I prefer ghosts to ghouls. Ghosts are much better conversationalists.
What’s your opinion on our own Jeeves?
Ah, Jeeves, a perfect example of a poltergeist thriving on the chaos of nearby youths. I must say he is quite typical for his kind, and wise enough to know just who not trifle to with.
Have you ever had any loved ones become a ghost? Who?
My uncle actually regularly attends the farm where I grew up. He keeps the grandson who now owns the land company. I suppose he didn’t trust me to teach the younger generations on my own.
You’re a big family man, can you tell us about your family and loved ones?
Ah, I could go on for days! I’m very proud of all of them, of course. Did I mention that I just received a great great great grandson? Here, let me show you some pictures…
What brought you back to Hogwarts?
This would actually be my first attendance at Hogwarts. I attended Uagadou in my youth, and taught there for a few years before I was asked to teach here. My great granddaughter did attend here, however, and she spoke highly of the school, so I accepted the invitation.
How did you get that scar?
Ah, yes, I lost my eye after I was attacked by a blood purist during a talk about muggleborn rights. When I was younger, I was quite an activist, however I had to retire from that life due to family and career. It actually has healed quite nicely.
Have you ever had a bad experience with a ghost or ghoul?
Ah yes, have you ever heard of an Asanbosam? They are a quite quick and dangerous ghoul, with hook-like claws. I still have a scar on my shoulder where I was almost hauled off into a tree by one that had been haunting the outskirts of a muggle village. Luckily my wife was there to rescue me.
How are you liking teaching here so far?
It is very different than Uagadou, much more serious. It is nice to see how many are excited to learn about ghosts and ghouls, however. It seems no matter where you go, children have a great hunger for knowledge. That said, I enjoy the experience.
Are there any things you like to do for fun, or to pass the time?
Ah, most of my time is spent outside of the school, either spending time with my wife, or visiting family and old colleagues of mine. Most recently I even had to leave for an emergency with some vampires across the pond.
