Year 1 & 2: List five (5) protective spells and include the following (if known): History, Effects, Etymology, and Pronunciation. After each one is listed, fill in the data sheet with practical practice of each of the spells you’ve chosen.
Year 3 & 4: List ten (10) protective spells and include the following (if known): History, Effects, Etymology, and Pronunciation. After each one is listed, fill in the data sheet with practical practice of each of the spells you’ve chosen.
Year 5: List all uses of the Shield Charm. Meaning maxima, etc. and include the following (if known): History, Effects, Etymology, and Pronunciation. Fill in the practice data sheet of each of the shield charms.
Year 6 & 7: Read Chapter 1 of “Self-Defensive Spellwork” Essay: Compare & Contrast 5 differences between Muggle physics and our world. Make sure to give examples of each difference. Three paragraph minimum.
History of Magic with Professor Oswalt Digby:
Write an essay, no more than a foot long on a reason why it is deemed imperative to utterly divorce ourselves of the muggle world and give a reason. Choice of reason is completely up to you.

Basic: Students are to write a small essay on the benefits of gathering one’s own ingredients, and why this method is usually preferred by Potioneer’s, over the nationalized purchasing of said items.
Advanced: Go to the library and research as much as you can about the ingredients Agrimony and Leech Juice and write a small essay on why Phineas Bourne may have chosen these two ingredients for the Laxative Potion.

Transfigurations with Professor Helga Von Der Vogelweidhof
In class, we transfigured birds using the Bird Conjuring charm Avis. Students were to care for their bird taken for a week to see how they deal. Write a report on their behavior, if they disappear or if they can be fed or sleep. Note them for a week and see how they develop. Students under 6th year please see the professor to talk with her about conjuring a bird if you missed class. Students 6th year and above, practice your conjuration of Avis to have said bird for your report.
Advanced Astronomy with Professor Laurie Gothly
Review the maps. Use the map when the weather clears and see if you can spot any of the landmarks. bonus points in homework if you write down the difference between asterism and constellation before next class.
